Making a Difference

Our non-profit, the Ndumu Charitable Fund, focuses on education and community upliftment. Through partnerships and generous guest contributions, we support various initiatives, including:

Education & Community Support
We partner with local schools and organisations to improve learning conditions and provide essential resources:

Big 5 Crèche – Installed a water tank, renovated play areas, and created a vegetable garden. Next project: building better toilet facilities.
Tshaneni Primary School – Donated computers for students, facilitated library use, and provided school supplies. Future plans: upgrading the kitchen and creating a full computer centre.
Sinethemba Pre-school – Improved facilities with waterproofing, vegetable gardens, and blackboards.
Nokukhanya Pre-School – Supplied art materials, soap, and cushions.
Isiphephelo Sejuba (Place of Safety for Women & Children) – Donated furniture, bedding, crockery, and facilitated ongoing guest contributions (clothing, toiletries, toys, etc.).
Vumazulu Youth Group – Supporting local Zulu dance and cultural heritage activities.

Our Sustainability Efforts

We are dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint through sustainable practices across the property.

Solar Power
Our solar power system supplies electricity to the entire property, significantly reducing reliance on grid power and lowering our carbon footprint.
Water Conservation
We use greywater recycling to flush toilets and irrigate our lush tropical gardens, helping conserve fresh water.
Plastic Reduction
We are committed to minimising single-use plastics, opting for reusable and biodegradable alternatives.
Composting & Waste Reduction
Kitchen waste is composted to create nutrient-rich soil for our gardens, while paper, plastic, and glass are responsibly recycled.
Coastal Dune Rehabilitation
During construction, we actively rehabilitated the surrounding coastal dune vegetation, removing invasive species and restoring natural biodiversity.
