KwaZulu-Natal enjoys a beautiful subtropical climate with warm sunshine most of the year. Summer (Nov to Feb) is hot and humid, while Winter (Jun to Aug) is dry and mild.

  • Summer, November to February: Warm and humid, with temperatures generally between 20°C and 32°C. Afternoon or evening showers are possible.
  • Autumn, March to May: Warm and pleasant, with temperatures of approximately 16°C to 28°C. This is an excellent time for beach and outdoor activities.
  • Winter, June to August: Mild and generally dry, with clear days and temperatures between 11°C and 24°C. Mornings and evenings can be cooler.
  • Spring, September to November: Temperatures generally range from 15°C to 27°C, with fresh coastal breezes and increasingly warm days.

Sea and weather conditions can vary, so guests should check the forecast shortly before travelling.

Pack light, comfortable clothing suited to the warm coastal climate, together with swimwear, high-SPF sun protection, sunglasses and a hat. Sandals are useful around the hotel and beach, while comfortable walking or running shoes are recommended for exploring the area.

A light jacket or jersey is useful for cooler mornings, evenings and sea breezes, particularly during winter. Guests may also wish to bring binoculars for seasonal whale and dolphin sightings, along with any personal medication and charging equipment.
